Hello!
To those of you in the UK, I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday yesterday and that you’re feeling refreshed for the month ahead. The Yarn Journal is centred around mindfulness this month as Mental Health Awareness Week is May 15-21. So many makers use their craft to support their mental health, whether it be for relaxation, promoting focus and concentration, or simply for fun. This month is a great time to reflect on your craft practice and think about how you can use to it promote mindfulness in your daily life, and ultimately reap the many benefits that your favourite hobby has to offer.
In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week 2023, I have made a craft themed colouring in page for you to download! Colouring in is a wonderful mindfulness activity that helps you slow down and do something creative with no pressure. It’s also a great tool if you’re feeling frustrated or in a slump with your current WIP as you can get your inspiration flowing.

As well as colouring in, we also have your usual monthly spread to download for May. Using these monthly pages can help you make time for your craft and encourage you to prioritise your creativity. During Mental Health Awareness Week, I really recommend using the habit tracker so you can see how often you made time for yourself and took a moment to do something positive for your mental health with your craft.
