This week we’re shining a spotlight on one of our favourite baby yarns: Twist! We started stocking this yarn about a year ago, ordering in just 6 shades to try out. Since then, it has become one of the most popular yarns in our shop; our customers love it and we now have 20 fabulous shades to choose from! As it’s been a year, I thought it would be a good time to revisit this range in Yarn Corner and see how this selection has shaped up. Let’s get into it!

One of the best features of this yarn, and what makes it popular with our customers, is that it’s an anti-pilling yarn. This means that it is designed to be easy to care for and can withstand plenty of cycles through the washer without your knitted or crocheted fabric forming bobbles on it. Katia, the Spanish company that created Twist, sets this baby yarn apart from the crowd due to its unique double-twist structure. This helps prevent friction on the garment which in turn prevents bobbles from forming.

As many of you will have experienced, there’s nothing worse than pouring your love, time and energy into a project just for it to be damaged after being washed a few times! Anti-pilling yarn is an excellent choice for baby garments as there’s no doubt that those makes will be making many journeys through the washing machine. The longevity and durability of this yarn will not let you down.

Twist is made with 100% acrylic and comes in 50g balls. The yarn is high quality and many of our customers come back for more as they have really enjoyed working with it. It’s lovely and soft, making it both a delight to work with and for your little ones to snuggle up with. Blankets or booties, cardigans or cuddly toys; whatever you make with Twist double knit, it will be loved!

What started as a 6 shade range in our yarn shop quickly expanded to a full 20 colour collection. This range has some truly beautiful shades to choose from, including pretty pastels, rich reds and a variety of blues and greys. What I love most about the shades in this range is that they provide alternatives to classic ‘baby’ colours. Instead of being limited to white, yellow and baby pink, Twist offers much deeper shades that compliment each other really well. This will help your garments stand out and be one of a kind. It also makes this a great range for projects for adults; you aren’t limited to just a baby yarn!

Pictured below is a blanket that my mum made using Twist. I love the mix of neutrals with a pop of blue!

Another perk of this yarn is that Katia released a free pattern to accompany it. There’s a QR code on the ball band which you scan!

So, if Twist has caught your eye and you’d like to try it, you can save 15% on this yarn on our website for the next 2 weeks! Find your exclusive discount code in Edition #62.
