Autumn 2023: New Yarns
An exciting look at our new collections
As we’ve had so much new stock arriving in our yarn shop for Autumn/ Winter 2023, I thought I should give you an exclusive tour of all our exciting new collections. From refreshed familiar favourites to yarns we’ve never stocked before, here’s everything you need to see for the coming season.
First up we have a restock of a yarn that has become an autumn classic over the last couple of years. Sirdar’s Jewelspun aran is known for its cosy colourways and giant balls of yarn. This year, Sirdar have released a collection of new shades, so we just had to order them all in! All of the shades we’re stocking are brand new, so if you’ve tried this yarn before, there’s still something different for you to choose from.
What’s even better? We also have a brand new range from this collection: Jewelspun Chunky! If you loved the aran range, then you’ll love the chunky version too. It’s got all the autumnal greatness of Jewelspun, and is just perfect for cosy accessories and homeware. See Jewelspun Chunky pictured below!
We’ve also ordered in a lot of new patterns from Sirdar to go with these yarns as the designs this year are fantastic. Gorgeous garments, beautiful blankets - your autumn style guide has arrived!
The blanket pattern below is my favourite of the new designs. The detailing is stunning, and it really showcases the colour transitions within the yarn!
Next, we have a new baby range from Woolcraft called Sparkle Solide. This is a double knitting yarn with a subtle sparkle running through, giving a new twist to these classic baby shades. This yarn will be great for the run up to Christmas as it’s always fun to add a little sparkle into your handmade projects!

It wouldn’t be a stylish autumn if we didn’t make room for some yarns from Rowan. We’ve been stocking the Felted Tweed range for some time now, and it has become one of the most popular yarns in our shop. That’s why we decided to expand this range for this season! We’ve got lots of new shades in stock and we’ve made sure that your autumn favourites are here. Warm neutrals, oranges, and reds, are balanced with lovely bright shades so you can put together your dream projects.
Felted Tweed also has a lovely textured appearance which is great for autumnal garments and accessories.
Next we have another Rowan range which is brand new to our shop. Kidsilk Haze is a luxurious mohair yarn that comes in gorgeous colours. These shades are almost neon so your handmade garments can be extra vibrant. We don’t often stock mohair yarns as lower quality ones are not always great for knitting or crocheting with. But, Kidsilk Haze is well balanced with 30% Silk, so it really is a delight to work with.
Last but not least, we have 2 new sock yarns from Rico Design. First we have Socks Neon. This range features 100g balls of 4ply that certainly stand out on our shelves. There are 6 wonderfully bright shades to choose from, so this is an ideal yarn for all you colour fanatics out there!
The other sock yarn is Super Soft Super Dégrade cakes, which is also a 4ply yarn. This range comes in 50g cakes, and the idea behind this is that you can get 1 sock from each ball and each sock looks exactly the same. The colourways are carefully designed so that your socks will be identical whilst still featuring lots of colour changes. Check out the different shades below - aren’t they fantastic!
